Hello my name is Daryl. My undergrad was in business but I hated working in sales. I was coaching my daughters soccer team and the principals daughter was also on our team; she mentioned that I should be a PE teacher because I worked so well with the players and parents 😀 Plus I always enjoyed PE as a kid! Hoping to increase my teacher knowledge and learn some best practices so that I can be a distinquisted PE Teacher👍

Share one moment where students followed expectations exactly as you had planned? What do you attribute that success to?
Students followed expectations when I was handing out equipment (bean bags) for them to use. They were instructed to grab a bag and then spread out in the gym. Their line to get the bag was neat and they spread out in space very quickly. I think they were successful because my expectations were clearly laid out and easy to follow. They also knew that if they were quick and quiet they would get to play more and listen to me talk less.

What's one shift you're committing to make (or have made) in your PE program to create a more inclusive and equitable environment? What impact did it have on your students?
I have choice exercise boards i use for warm-up sometime. The students get to choose from the board what there 4 warm-up exercises they want to do. It gives them some ownership.

Hi, My name is Sherlyn Conrad and I teach at Sacred Heart of Jesus school in Fairfield, Ohio. I hope my students would describe my class as packed full of activties, safe and inviting. The students would know that safety is non-negotiable and that sportsmanship and cooperation trumps winning every day.
