The Distinguished PE Teacher of the Year award recognizes PE teachers (K-12, open worldwide) who deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction, grounded in the philosophy of Distinguished Physical Education. 
 

The rubric is available and you can use it as you prepare your submission.

 

To apply: submit a video of yourself teaching a lesson (~45 minutes), along with a short video or audio reflection. Use this

document to guide your reflection.

The winner receives

• $500

• Distinguished PE merch (shirt, plaque, stickers, etc.)

• Free access to all Distinguished PE resources (virtual course, curriculum, etc.)

• An invitation to be a guest on the podcast

Timeline: Applications close on January 31st, 2027. The winner will be announced in March 2027.

Applicants agree to allow their video to be used in Distinguished Physical Education professional development and courses that will be resources for other teachers to learn from.
