DPE 106: Prioritizing Standards-Based Social Skills (100 Hour Certificate)

This asynchronous graduate-level course is designed for K–12 physical education teachers who are committed to building inclusive, standards-based, rigorous physical education programs for all students. Rooted in the content of Distinguished Physical Education (Chapter Eleven), this course invites educators to reflect on the impact that explicitly teaching standards-based social skills has on students and PE culture. Educators will also learn when to incorporate standards-based social skills into units and yearly plans in order to achieve maximum impact on student learning and engagement, along with efficient methods for assessing students progress toward proficiency of these skills.
